Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart is dead, killed in a hit-and-run accident that occurred early this morning in Fullerton, California, only hours after pitching six innings of shutout ball against the Athletics.

Adenhart was only 22 years old, and a promising piece of the Angels’ starting rotation. Two others died in the crash, including one that may or may not also be a member of the Angels’ organization.

Glad you got this on here, it is a huge tragedy

  2. Jason Weaver says:

We all have a great respect and love for this game because
of the effect that it has had on all of our lives. Whether
it is the broken heart of a lost season or the fond memories
of watching your first baseball game with your father, this
magnificent game has had a hand in creating who we are
today. It is times like this which remind us that this kids’
game can pull at our most delicate heartstrings and it is
times like this when we all must remember that life is
precious; both inside and outside the foul lines.

I am sure all of you will join me in saying that all our
thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, fans and
    the entire Angels’ organization.

    May he rest in peace.

  3. Ryan Tandy says:

Just an awful thing to hear. My heart goes out to his family.

  4. Bill Ivie says:

It is a horrible incident that reminds all of us that the people who play the game that we love so much are fragile human beings that life does not hold with any more value than the rest of us.

This is a tragedy and a horrible time for the Angels, the Adenhart family, and the baseball community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

    What a sad tragedy.
I just can’t believe how many of these sad happenings that have occured in the history of the Angels’ franchise.

Supply and demand is the most basic of all economic concepts. If there is a shortage of a product, the demand for it will be higher. People will have a greater desire for it. If it’s a product that anyone can acquire with ease, the demand will not be as high. I equate this concept to fantasy baseball, especially the Going 9 NL Only league.

One of the most difficult aspects in analyzing baseball, whether it is for fantasy or real world purposes, is knowing when a slow start is really more than just a temporary issue. Some players are notoriously slow starters.
