It’s one of the iconic photos in sports, right up there in the “team picture,” so to speak, with great shots like Neil Leifer’s Ali following through over the fallen Sonny Liston, Bobby Orr ‘The Goal’by Ray Lussier and the Tommie Smith and John Carlos 1968 Olympics Black Power Salute. Now the original historic “Babe Bows Out” photo from the June 13, 1948, ceremony at Yankee Stadium, which won a Pulitzer Prize, is up for auction as part of the Grey Flannel Auctions‘ Summer Games Auction 2012.

Other highlight items up for bid include a 1965 Sandy Koufax Dodgers Game-Used Home Flannel Jersey from his Championship & Cy Young Season, 1972 Roberto Clemente Pirates Signed Final Career Contract and 1981 Robert Parish Boston Celtics Championship Ring originating from Parish himself.

In all, 782 lots have been selected for the absentee and internet auction that closes for bidding on May 30.
