Franklin Sports Eight All-Stars, Led By Starters Hamilton, Votto, Me. Cabrera

Franklin Sports, makers of the “Official Batting Glove of Major League Baseball,” celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the batting glove with eight All-Star selections wearing the brand, including three starters – Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton, the all-time single-season vote-getter in balloting history with over 11 million votes, in the American League; and first baseman Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds, and outfielder Melky Cabrera of the San Francisco Giants in the National League.

The five Franklin reserves include: Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera; Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko; and Cleveland Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera in the American League; and National League catchers Carlos Ruiz of the Philadelphia Phillies, and Yadier Molina of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Ruiz paces the Franklin All-Stars at a torrid .356 clip, followed by Melky’s sizzling .352 batting average, and Votto’s red hot .350. In fact, all eight Franklin greats are hitting .300 or better at the time of their selection as they embark on their journey to Kansas City for Tuesday night’s “Mid Summer Classic.” Hamilton’s 26 homeruns and 74 RBI lead the Franklin star in those categories, while Melky Cabrera’s 111 hits tops the hit brigade.

“We are proud of the eight Franklin All-Stars, and delighted that they will perform with baseball’s best in Kansas City as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of our batting glove,” says Franklin President Larry Franklin.
