The Kansas City Royals are hosting an online auction in conjunction with the annual Salute to the Negro Leagues celebration set for Saturday, July 21. The Royals host the Minnesota Twins that evening with first pitch scheduled for 6:10 p.m.
Both teams will don Negro League uniforms provided by Sprint with the Royals wearing Kansas City Monarchs home uniforms and the Twins wearing St. Paul Colored Gophers road uniforms. Following the game, select game-worn jerseys, autographed by the respective player, will be featured in an online auction. The player signatures will be authenticated by Major League Baseball.
The auction is set to open on Saturday, July 21 at noon CDT and will close on Friday, August 3 at noon CDT. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM).

The remainder of the jerseys worn by the Royals and Twins on Saturday will be donated to the NLBM for future fundraising efforts over the course of the next several months.
The Salute to the Negro Leagues festivities will also include an in-stadium tribute to several former Negro League players scheduled to be at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday. In addition, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Buck O’Neil bobblehead courtesy of Hy-Vee.
